The joy of beginnings
Punta de Teno is one of the most iconic places in Buenavista del Norte and on the island of Tenerife. Its wild landscapes contrast with the blue of the Atlantic Ocean, and for sure, if it is your first time there, you will be amazed by Los Gigantes cliffs.
The entrance to this spot is regulated. You can only access it by public transport from the town centre. It is quite curious to mention that this area of Tenerife has more hours of sunshine per year.

Punta de Teno has always been regarded as the last tip of the island of Tenerife. However, located in Teno Massif, it is one of the first formations in Tenerife. Thus, this symbolic point makes it the beginning of the island.
To reach Punta de Teno you will have to take the 369 TITSA line bus. You can do it at numerous points in the town of Buenavista del Norte. The bus route will allow you to contemplate great cliffs. Therefore, you will understand why this enclave of the municipality is so distinctive.
When you arrive at Punta de Teno you will see how both the north and south seas meet. You will find the old lighthouse and the new one, although nowadays the access is closed. However, you can go through the two slopes of this place through different paths. You will find some coves to take a bath. If you prefer not to walk, you can do it in La Ballenita.
Fishermen go out to fish and you will find active tourism companies that carry out water sports. If you book in advance, you can enjoy kayaking or a boat trip contemplating Los Gigantes cliff and the south coast of Buenavista del Norte.
